Beauty Journal: My Vanity Space (2018)

by - Friday, January 12, 2018

Hello!

I've been intending to write this post since forever in relation to my previous post which I wrote in 2016 but I'm just damn lazy and unmotivated okay hahahah. Nevertheless, here I am finally writing this post. The reason why I got the motivation to get around to writing this post is because I love watching Make Up Collection videos but I do not have that many make up products to create a video hence, a blog post.

Enough with the blabbering, let's get to it. Shall we?

Basically this is how my vanity table look like, untouched. I cleaned it about 2 weeks ago and I'm thankful it's still as neat now considering how i usually rush out in the mornings. I guess organization really plays an important role in creating a neat space, no?

And if you're really wondering, no my watch and ring weren't supposed to be out like that hahaha I actually have a drawer for them but since these two are my everyday accessories I never bothered putting them back in the drawer.

The white basket contains my skincare and haircare products that I use on a daily basis. You can't really see them from the picture above but I'll list it:

  • Garnier Micellar Water: which I use to remove my makeup everyday and while it isn't as strong for heavier makeup and you might have to go through several times but it is gentle on the skin which is one thing I like
  • Garnier Sakura White Serum Cream with SPF 21++: I use this as my moisturizer and I apply it before my Make up routine
  • Lucido-L Argan oil hair treatment oil: to treat my super dry hair and because it smells nice lolol
  • Lovisa Accessory Polishing Cloth: to keep my accessories bling
  • Random Guardian Plaster: because I'm clumsy af and I wear flats alot so hello blisters and whatnot
  • Watch: Zalora
  • Ring: It's a promise ring between my bf and I so please don't cringe
  • Lipstick/Brush Acrylic Organizer: Daiso
  • Basket: Something that I got for being a "Flower Girl" at my dad's friend wedding some years ago

I keep my cosmetics inside this customized pouch for portability in case I need to travel I can just grab and go (sort-of).

  • Customized Cosmetic Pouch: Bangkok

Basically stuff that are in my make-up pouch. As you can see most of them are mid-range drugstore products. I have a few products which are on the more expensive side (for a student): Innisfree, Etude House, ColorPop. I'll be listing the products below from the left to right, top and bottom:
  • Double Eyelid Tape: From a Japanese Store but you can opt for cheaper ones on Taobao. I'd usually get them in light yellow but if you have tan skin (like me) it's better if you can get the skin color one. Trust me, its experience hahaha
  • In2it BB Aqua in Rose Beige: This is actually a tinted moisturizer 5 in 1 thing because I am damn lazy hahaha but recently I have opted foundation out of my routine because I don't really need to and I want to cut down some steps in my everyday routine
  • Innisfree No-Sebum Sebum Powder: I have it in this super cute packaging because it was my birthday month when i went and stock up on some supplies hahaha. I used this no sebum powder to replace my in2it foundation for a lighter coverage and for oil control (mainly t-zone area)
  • Etude House Any Cushion: This is hands down the best cushion I have ever used okay. I'd say better than the Innisfree one (own preference) because it gives a light and dewy coverage but one thing is that it's expensive and I actually already finished this one but I'm waiting for a sales to stock up on it again. Hence, it being in my cosmetic pouch and the case is damn pretty please
  • Miniso 3 shade eye shadow: It's only RM10! Budget and Pigmented I don't know what else I can I for in this product, honestly. I know some people would be skeptical about it being so cheap whether it will blind you or not etc but here's the truth, it won't. and it's damn pigmented. A little goes a long way. If you're on a budget but you want good makeup, this one is worth a shot.
  • In2It Compact Powder: This is a free gift, but it works as a light concealer. I don't use it on my whole face because I think that it will make my whole make up look all cakey which is not what I want
  • Colorpop Ultra Satin Lip in Dohee: This is the one from the Colorpop x JennIm collab and I got it off a carouseller. At first I wasn't really fond of it but I like the color so sometimes I'm able to look pass the application for the color. It is a sweet orange coral color which is very korean. Considering that Dohee is JennIm's Korean name so the color really lives up to it's name.
  • Maybelline The Hyper Curl Volume Express Mascara in Black: Well, Maybelline mascara can never go wrong and on a side note, has anybody tried Maybelline x Gigi Hadid collection yet??
  • In2It Blusher: Honestly, I needed a blusher and I bought this because it is cheap and it didn't disappoint me. I mean, how can a blusher disappoint... right?
  • Innisfree EyeShadow in #12: The color pigmentation is good and suitable for everyday use. I usually use this eyeshadow on a daily basis and line my eyes with brown eyeliner and I'm good to go
  • SilkyGirl 3D Brow and Nose Shadow: A very practical palette I would say. It allows for nose contouring and filling in the brows. I switched out my eyebrow pencil for this one because I realized that I have more control using powder and it is much more natural. Besides, despite having only one contour shade, the shade matches my skin tone pretty well. It's good to be tan. hahah jokes
  • Maybelline Concealer: I have been using this concealer for close to two years now and it works fine for me but I'm thinking of switching it out soon, any recommendations?
  • Innisfree Mineral Highlighter in #09: This highlighter doesn't really work as a highlighter maybe because of my skin tone but it should be fine if you're fair. But nevertheless, it still manages to give some glow to the skin

Moving on, I store my daily lip products in this acrylic organizer I bought from Daiso. I'll be listing them in the direction of the pink lipstick on the right and moving clockwise:

  • Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips Talk in #PK006: It is a very dry lipstick I'd say and If I would to swipe it directly on my lips my lips would be super dry looking and in other words, ugly. So I need to dab it on instead.
  • Silky Girl Moisture Rich in #27 Romantic: This was one of my first red lipstick and considering its price, it is a very good lipstick although not very long lasting
  • Cellina's Bakery Sweet Flavor Lip Balm in Strawberry Macaron: A souvenir from Taiwan and it smells damn good hahaha
  • KIKO Fusion Lipstick in #406 Smart: A souvenir from a Dear Friend who visited Italy! The color is natural and it is so moisturizing
  • Silky Girl Moisture Smooth in #15 Caramel Peach: My first Coral-pink lipstick that made me fall in love with these kind of shade. After I purchased this shade, I almost never use Red Lipstick anymore
  • NARS Audacious Lipstick in Kelly: My first high end lipstick and the color is in bright red so i don't use it often but when I do, I love it because the color pay off is so good. Although I always apply it using the gradient or dabbing technique (I am not a fan of striking lip color) the color is still dressy without it being too much
  • Taiwan Brand Lipstick: IT SMELLS LIKE ROSE AND THE SHADE IS PRETTY also, it is a souvenir from Taiwan

This is my super scattered brush/pencil collection hahaha. As you can see my brushes are pretty basic because as much as I want a full collection of brushes, I really don't need it hahahaa. Since my brushes can be viewed at one glance I'll only list down the two pencils which you can see in the picture:
  • Innisfree Auto Eyebrow Pencil in Urban Brown: Here's a food for thought- why is it called auto eyebrow pencil hahahaa. It's a very good eyebrow pencil all in all and It's my first eyebrow pencil, ever so you know sentimental values towards it. Besides, its not that expensive
  • Innisfree Always New Auto Liner in #13: This is my favourite eyeliner, ever. It is easy to glide on and it is natural. I have broke 2 of it before it changed its design and I ALWAYS go back to buying it despite it being not very cheap. Luckily they changed their design now so yay no more clumsy me breaking the tip again making it unusable.
And fyi, those tools in the pictures are for trimming and shaping eyebrows okay don't think otherwise. Just thought of making it clear HAHAHAHA. Oh, and the plastic stuff are for my double eyelid stickers.

That's all for my 2018 Makeup Collection! I hope you enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed writing AHAHAHAH. Maybe leave me a link in the comment if you have your very own version too! (i dont mind it being in the form of blog posts or videos hehe)
